Cole's 25-to-1 Fundraising Edge Signals Campaign Momentum

It’s an all-hands-on-deck, boots-on-the-ground mindset for Del. candidate Nicole Cole, who outraised her Republican opponent 25-to-1 in the first quarter, according to the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP).

Cole’s campaign has hit the phones hard, calling voters throughout District 66 in hopes of expanding her network. She’s also been engaging directly with the community through a series of fundraising events across the region.
During the first quarter, Cole held fundraising events in Richmond, Va., where Virginia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger served as a guest speaker. Cole, a 1991 graduate of the University of Maryland, returned to her old stomping grounds, hosting events throughout D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV).
“People know my work on the Spotsylvania School Board. Folks in the community know that if they support me, they’ll get a return on their investment,” Cole said. In 2021, she was the only Democrat on the local school board ballot—and she won. All other winning candidates that year were Republicans.
Cole believes that if she could win the people’s vote in 2021, she can do it again in this year’s District 66 House of Delegates race—with strong community support behind her. She noted there’s been little change in the district’s leadership over the past three decades, and voters are hungry for new representation at both the local and state levels.
“I am deeply thankful for the incredible support we’ve received from across Virginia and here in District 66,” Cole said. “Each dollar raised reflects the commitment of our community to join me in a movement to reclaim our future. I’m running to stand up for every member of our community—to give them a voice to demand better. I’ve fought for this community before and won, and with your continued help and support, I will do it again. Together, we won’t just do better—we’ll build the thriving community we all deserve.”
If elected, Cole plans to push a blueprint to grow the economy, make housing more affordable, lower health care costs, and support the success of local businesses, according to her campaign.
As a current member of the Spotsylvania School Board, Cole says children’s access to a quality education—and creating environments that support everyone’s health and well-being—are issues she thinks about every single day.
